Welcome to the on-line home of the Alamitos-Marina Service Unit of the Girl Scout Council of Greater Long Beach We serve the southeastern area of the Council, from the Seal Beach (Orange County) border through the downtown Long Beach area.

We'll try to get news of service unit events up there as quickly as possible, and the council is looking for photos of your troop. If you don't want to see the site full of pictures of the service unit manager's troop, please send yor pictures to the council webmaster at webmaster@gscglb.org.
Service Unit Meetings
Usually, the second Thursday of every month at Marine Landing from 7 PM to 8:30 PM where we share news, info about upcoming events, and other useful items to help your troop. In the past, we've made steamroller ice cream in coffee cans. We baked a pineapple upside-down cake in a Dutch Oven at another meeting. What'll we do when YOU come?
Realignment News
As you probably know, Greater Long Beach will be merging with some of the other councils in the Los Angeles Area -- legal date (which probably won't affect you) will be December 1, 2008. The new council group (we'll be called the Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles)has a web site up for news of the process -- check it out!
