Welcome to the on-line home of the Alamitos-Marina Service Unit of Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles. We serve the southeastern area of the Council, from the Seal Beach (Orange County) border through the downtown Long Beach area.

Service Unit Meetings
Usually, the first Tuesday of every month at the Southwest Region (Long Beach) Office from 7 PM to 8 PM where we share news, info about upcoming events, and other useful items to help your troop.

Upcoming Additions/Changes in Program Materials and Awards
With Journeys now the center of the Girl Scout program, attention is being paid to the various badges and patch programs, and the fact that the available handbooks were written one or two program revisions ago. New age-level handbooks are to be released in the autumn of 2011 which will combine a traditional handbook and badge book, and in preparation for this, many current badges/awards have been discontinued. We've posted a list; if your girls are working on any of them, purchase them now!
A council (Girl Scouts of Ohio's Heartland) has published a GSUSA-prepared presentation on the new handbooks and badges.
