The Girl Scout Cookie Sale Songbook!

We just received three new songs from Troop 2702 (Girl Scouts Texas Oklahoma Plains)! If we haven't said it before, submissions are gleefully accepted!

Copies of these songs are available in MS-Word format and PDF format! Enjoy!

We've been collecting these for a number of years, and some of the cookie names included in them are out of date. If you want to sing them at a sale, we'd advise editing them to include current varieties...

COOKIE TIME

(Tune: The Chipmunk Song) (the one that starts "Christmas, Christmas time is near...")

Girl Scout cookie time is here!
Cookies come but once a year.
They taste good and they last
In your freezer - freeze them fast!
Our Thin Mints will make ya flip!
Help me earn a DIVA trip!
You should buy a case today
Before they go away!

Author's Note: (In our council, Scouts who sell 1000 boxes earn a DIVA trip to an special location each year.)

BUY THIN MINTS

(Tune: Jingle Bells)

Buy Thin Mints!

Buy a box today!
They're only here once a year
Then they go a-way!

Cookie Lineup

tune: The Dreidel Song

CHORUS:
Oh, Cookies, cookies, cookies!
There's cookies here to eat!
So get some milk and buy some,
for they are nice and sweet!

We have some Girl Scout cookies,
the Thin Mints are the Best!
The Trefoils are the oldest type,
and here you see the rest.

CHORUS

If Peanut Butter is your thing,
with chocolate or without,
Then Do-si-dos are what you want,
or Tagalongs you'll shout

CHORUS

Our booth is here to serve you,
so go into the store,
And get your stuff and then come out,
for you will want Samoas!

CHORUS

The Cafés are the newest,
the Cinnamon's delish!
But if you're wanting low fat,
then Lemon's what you wish.

CHORUS

The last one is a kid pleaser,
without them, they will pout!
For Shortbread dipped in Chocolate
Is what it's All About!

CHORUS

The Cookie Song

tune: This is the Song That Never Ends..

The cookie song that never ends
We're selling cookies here my friends
And if you buy a box of them, or maybe even two,
We'll stop singing long enough for you and you and you

To get yourselves right out the door
After you're gone we'll sing some more.
We'll sell you extra cookies if you want to come right back.
And you can have them later for a little bitty snack.

Samoas, Snaps, and Thin Mints, too,
We've got them all right here for you.
We want to thank you very much for every little thing.
And while we sell our cookies we will sing and sing and sing

The cookie song that never ends
We're selling cookies here my friends.....
(repeat, and repeat, and repeat.....)

from Mona L, (credit to Thousand Islands GSC Troop 175 - specifically Merryn and Jessica!)

Thin Mints

(to the tune of "Black Socks")

Thin Mints, they only come once a year
Buy some and freeze them, they're not in the store.

Thin Mints, they're so very tasty
The more that you eat them the more you want more

And more and more and more...

(this song was by Mona L., Thousand Islands GSC, responding to a challenge)

The next three songs come from Buffalo and Erie GSC:

Tune: Are you sleeping?

Girl Scout Cookies, Girl Scout Cookies,
Yum, Yum, Yum, Yum, Yum, Yum
Eat 'em by the dozen, Eat 'em by the dozen
They're all gone, They're all gone.

Tune: Pop Goes The Weasel

Up and down the neighborhood streets
Girl Scouts sell their cookies
Ringing doorbells, asking you please
Please buy some cookies!

Tune: Oh Susannah

Oh we come from Buffalo & Erie
Girl Scout cookies for to sell.
We see every Sue & Sally
Our good message for to tell.

Girl Scout Cookies!
Boy they are so neat!
So many kinds, So good to taste
Hard to know which one to eat.

(Obviously, any 4-syllable council name could be substituted for "Buffalo and Erie". If your council name has more syllabels than that, you'll have to get inventive!)

Cookie Mommies

w: Anonymous m: Jeffry Moss
Tune: Rubber Ducky

Cookie Mommies, you're the ones
Who count the boxes, one by one.
Cookie Mommies, we're awfully proud of you.
Do, Do, Si, Do.

We sell cookies for the scouts,
But you're the reason
it all works out.
Cookie Mommies, its all because of you.

Every box we sell
Makes a little bit of money
To pay for
All the projects and
Buy the snacks for our tummies, Mommies!

Cookie Mommies, you get the work done.
You make selling lots of fun.
Cookie Mommies, we o-o-owe it all to you!!!!

Cookies

Tune: Suitors (O Lê Lê O Bahia)

There are cookies in my den
6 or 8 or even 10
And my husband wants them out
Or at least that's what he shouts.

And I told him that I will
When the people get their fill.
I don't think he understands
When he makes such demands.

So now they are out
But I think he has his doubts
When all the Girl Scouts run in
And say they'd like to sell again.

Cookie Sale Song

w (Girl version) Laura H w( Adult version)W. S.
music: Battle Hymn of the Republic

-----GIRLS VERSION-----
We're selling Girl Scout cookies, yes, it's Girl Scout Cookie time!
"Would you like to buy some?" is our cookie selling line.
We've got lots to choose from, don't you see your favorite kind?
We thank you very much!

Glory, glory we are Girl Scouts!
Smiling, cookie selling Girl Scouts!
Please buy cookies, you can help us.
We can't eat them all ourselves!

-----ADULT VERSION-----
We teach our girls business skills, drill math into their brain.
We sit cookie booths in sunshine and in wind, and heat, and rain.
We smile until our lips are numb for great financial gain,
But we still have cookies left!

Glory, glory I'm a leader
A grinning cookie chomping leader
All I ate was 40 boxes
And I still have cookies left!

Cookie Song

w: Debbie C & daughter, m: Cindy Dasch: On My Honor
CHORUS:
On my honor I will try
To sell Girl Scout cookies all day and night
We'll sell our cookies until they are gone.
'Cause there's many more where they come from.

People don't need to know my name
They'll buy my cookies just the same
For three dollars a box, they get quite a treat
When they open up their box to eat. CHORUS

I've tucked away a box or two,
If you buy our cookies you'll have some too.
If you need Samoas then we have some,
And there's plenty more where they came from. CHORUS

We sell our cookies at the grocery store,
And we even go door to door.
Our Thin Mints, they are really great
So freeze them now before it's too late. CHORUS

We've set a goal that we plan to keep,
To sell fifty boxes before we fall asleep
So buy several boxes so when we're gone,
You can still be munching and singing this song. CHORUS

With our profits we have lots of fun.
We sell and sell nearly a ton.
We're going camping, and horse riding too,
And we even get to sleep at the zoo. CHORUS

Our cookie sale lasts only three weeks.
But we have lots of fun with the people we meet.
So buy our cookies before we go.
Cause we won't be back for a year or so. CHORUS

Girl Scout Cookies -- Girl Scout Cookies

1998 Cookie Song

by Mitten Bay Troops 340 & 346
tune: "My Bonnie lies over the ocean"

We sell all our cookies by boxes,
We sell all our cookies by case,
Everyone loves Girl Scout Cookies,
They put a big smile on your face!

Refrain:
Cookies, Cookies,
Thin mints and do-si-do's (clap clap)
Cookies, Cookies,
Trefoils and Samoas (clap clap)

You'll love to munch on our cookies,
They're only 3 dollars this year.
We sell them from door to door,
And this year we're selling them here.

Refrain:
Cookies, Cookies,
Thin mints and do-si-do's (clap clap)
Cookies, Cookies,
Trefoils and Samoas (clap clap)

...and then there's Junior Troop 499 from Mid-Continent GSC, which (when one of the girls accidentally asked a potential customer if she wanted to be Girl Scout Cookies instead of buy Girl Scout Cookies, burst into the following:

Oh I wish I was a Girl Scout Cookie
that is what I'd truly like to be!
'Cause if I was a Girl Scout Cookie
Everyone would be in love with me.

(the tune should be obvious...)
...and, for those of you out there selling ABC varieties, from Carol Wood and her daughters Rachel, and Tiffany of the Tarheel Triad Council (to the theme song from the Andy Griffith show):

Come on in, and join Girl Scouts,
Then we'll all scream and shout
We've got Peanut Butter Patties and Carmel De Lites
Good in the morning, noon, and night.
We've got Thin Mints and Shortbreads,
For eating when you go to bed.
We've got Peanut Butter Patties for all you men
Watching the game in the den.

Cooooooookies, Coooooookies
Come on and buy some cookies
