Scout Orienteering Meet
Every February, the Los Angeles Orienteering Club puts on an annual Scout Orienteering Event with some training and two chances to run orienteering courses. However, they also give brief instructions before EVERY event in the LA area -- check out their web site.
JPL Open House
The 2008 JPL Open House will take place on Saturday and Sunday, May 3rd and 4th, 2008, 9am-5pm both days. It's fun -- and it's FREE!
Disneyland Youth Education Series
Not free, but a great experience -- the Disneyland Youth Education Series offers activities led and taught by a Disney facilitator for different age levels, and covering a number of different interest areas. Check it out!
Endangered Species Habitat Restoration Day 2008

Join volunteers from throughout southern California to help restore isolated beach habitat that has become choked with litter and debris from winter storms and runoff. This area provides crucial foraging habitat for a large number of migratory and resident waterfowl and shorebirds.
When: Saturday, March 29th, 2008 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
Where: Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach Pacific Coast Hwy Gate (Near the Surfside Colony entrance)
